John Coolican is a director in CFM Corporate Finance. His experience combines an in-depth understanding of the Technology, Media & Telco sectors with execution in broader market M&A deals.
John has advised on a wide range of public and private transactions, including:
- Sale of Ci3 Consulting (Ci3) to Wolters Kluwer International BV;
- Advised significant Aer Lingus shareholder group on defence against 2 Ryanair bids
- Advised Boundary Capital on their purchase of Buy&Sell Ltd;
- Sale of Waterford Hire Services to Speedy Hire plc;
- The IPO of eircom plc;
- eircom’s purchase of Meteor;
- The sale of eircom to Babcock & Brown, and
- US-based InfoNXX on its €90M purchase of Conduit Ltd.
John was a director at the founding of Merrion Capital, initially leading the technology equity research on the stock-broking side, later in Merrion Corporate Finance, in this latter role he advised on several media and Telco deals. Prior to Merrion, John spent 5 years in Silicon Valley as a director in KPMG’s hi-technology consulting practice.
